a2 Achievements

The A2 Action Group Action Plan 2016-2018 focused on processes to foster good practices for falls prevention. Over the last 3 years, A2 members have worked together to develop models and procedures to support practical work in falls prevention enabling macro, meso and micro level analysis including:

  • Governance and policy-making based screening, prevention, rehabilitation and monitoring;
  • An integration with the Silver Economy and links to the WHO's consultation on Global Strategy and Action Plan on Ageing and Health.

These initiatives support regional and municipal levels to act and become intensively engaged in fall prevention campaigns, thereby enabling and promoting early frailty and fall risk assessment and identifying frail profiles and fall profiles. They also help to raise awareness among professionals and promote behavioural change among citizens in the prevention of falls and fall injuries.
